Ok. Hooked it up as shown above and for some reason everything worked except for the talkback on my radio. I cut the trace right after the 2 pin solder connection. Hooked up J2 to the pin and J1 to the trace. Now everything works great.

Found it. Red wire disconnected from meter.

So this would be correct.

the traces from the pins, for the most part do not lead directly to the wire. from this schematic you're saying just attach j2 to the "mic" point on the board & J1 to the black wire that was in that spot?

I have checked to make sure i didnt accidently unplug anything. That was the first thing i thought. i'll go back and double check to make sure.

I havent installed the echo board yet. was waiting to get some help on that.

The antenna is a 3' Wilson FGT Silver Load. I dont think it's the antenna becaus when i hook up my Cobra 25 i have no receive problems.

I think the speaker in my galaxy 949 is blown. I gives off a rattle when some of the louder sounds come through. I have a couple of old Cobra 29's & 25's laying around, that i know are good. If they are both 8ohm they should be interchangeable, right?
