    Quansheng UV K5

They are the same. The K6 is a K5 with a different screen color. I have this one and it has the best airband RX - https://www.radtels.com/products/radtel-rt-490-gps-6-bands-amateur-ham-two-way-radio-512ch-air-band-walkie-talkie-vox-dtmf-sos-lcd-color-police-scanner-aviation?variant=39994595901648

    Quansheng UV K5

Airband RX is poor at best, you must update the firmware to even get it to the poor level. The AGC on AM is all messed up, it overloads easily. I live about a mile and half from a major airport and I can barely copy the tower and ground coms. I have several other Chinese HTs that recieved the...

    MFJ to stop Building

Never had an issue with anything I bought from them, it all just worked. Sorry to see them go, there has been a rash of older established companies closing lately.

Yes, they do happen but more and more so these days. Quality control is an afterthought these days.

    WTB: CPI CP2000

I ran a CPI 2000 for a while, I thought it was a great radio till I started running an ICOM 720A. The ICOM ran circles around it.

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

Am has become an afterthought on the ham bands, at least below 160 anyway. I have an old Gates broadcast transmitter that someday I will get set up on 160. Outside of that, I have no use for AM

The Anytone and KW 140 would be close, the 140 is entry-level gear. I will agree on the build quality though. The 140 is 30+ years old I am guessing and I don't believe the Anytone will work for 30 years.

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

Honesty I would never buy any of the "exports", most are of poor quality (even the aforementioned Anytone). Get a ham rig, it will run circles around most if not all exports unless its the big over driven am sound someone wants and for them just get a 29.

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

I am a ham that no longer users 11 meters, I don't hate it I just don't like what it has become especially here in Chivcago. What I do find sad is no quality radios are being produced for the band anymore. I know the Anytime 6666 is a great radio but its not a cb.

Home Quansheng UV-K5 Full Band HD Modification

All these mods are for RX only, the RF components are not there for TX. The radio is extremely dirty TXing out of band.

Yes I have two now, one running Stained and the other IJV. Even with the FW mods the AM Air and RX is still Crap compared to other radios I have.
