If your talking about the Maco 10k gamma. Connect the hot to where the ceramic insulator is on the outside to the gamma and the ground (shield) to the element. A good place is where the bracket from the gamma connects to the element.
You are so right MC. These gain claims are just plain funny! Joe Gunn company maybe the funniest. Maco is off too. They aren't as bad. But I know my 5 element Maco is not 15db gain like they said. It is more like 10.5-11db. Just like my old Hygian. MC I once loaded up a shopping cart! lol.
Thank You DXhound it was the keying transistor. There was also a transistor in the circut I took it out and put a fast swiching diode in and everything is working. I saw a couple of pix of the insides of amps and tried to copy the circut. Thanks again.
I got the buzz noise out of the relay. I change the transistor. After about an hour of talking now the relay is stuck. I have to turn the amp off and the relay clicks back. The first key relay sticks and my recieve goes out . What could this be ? any info would be great. Thanks
Thanks for the info. It might be the keying transistor.I used a 2N3906 PNP. I got the at radio shack. it says it is for general-purpose amplifier and switching applications. I belive my problem is the keying circut maybe that's it. I would like to see a pic. of a keying circut built the right...
Homebrew 16 pill with as little as a 100 watts drive I get feedback from the relay. With very little watts drive no feedback until you talk. Any sugesstions?
