Anyone else check out the European skip coming in on FM? After listening to 30 stations coming in at once on LSB one of my locals pointed out that tons of European DX was coming in on the FM mode on channels in the thirties. The capture effect of the FM detector makes listening through pileups much nicer. It doesn't matter if 30 people are all trying to call one station at once. You only hear the strongest station crystal clear. The FM mode is only good when conditions are strong because weak FM signals are very noisy. Just a few S-units of signal brings the receiver into full quieting and makes pulling the strongest signal out of the group much easier.

Loads of FM here on the east coast in the UK 27/81 band.It sounds similar to our band with all the roger bleeps,overdone echo and fighting, only with funny accents.
