i'm right in hurricane dennis's path, and all communications will probably be knocked out, will my cb still work?

All you need is a source of 12 volt power and an antenna.Last year while hurricane Ivan ravaged the Cayman Islands I was listening to the NHC on 20m.They were looking for damage reports and emergency communications from the islands. One station checked in from Grand Cayman and was operating his station from a car battery and using a length of wire in the attic for an antenna with a tuner. The catch was he and his family were in the attic of the house because he had five feet of water on the main floor.Hopefully it does not get that bad but be prepared with a source of 12v andsomething for an antenna.AND KEEP IT DRY!
