This is an old radio, but is in good physical condition, and I want to fix it, but I am lost.
It turns on just fine, but has no RX or TX. No matter what I do. I try to manually key the mic also with a screwdriver and/or ground wire and still nothing.
There is nothing burnt inside. So it must just be a part failure or a cold solder joint I cannot find.
Any ideas? Bad PLL? Bad transistor somewhere? There aren't that many in this radio, but I really don't feel like starting to pull them out and test them. Don't have a in-circuit transistor tester.
