Galaxy 800 tell me a little about them.

Probably not so relevant as it used to be, but the so-called "8975" is a russky type with the greek letter "pi" in the type number.

Substituting the latin letter "P" in its place makes the type number "6P45". This is a pretty rugged tube for its size. The San Diego folks pulled the "8975" number out of their behinds and rubber-stamped it onto this russky TV sweep tube.

They could be found on fleabay before Vlad the inhaler trashed Ukraine. Haven't looked for them for a while.

I see the 6p45c Russian tube listed for around $50 and it's said to be the equivalent to
A 6kg6
Quote:

The Winged "C" (SED/Svetlana) 6P45C tube (6Π45C) is a substitute for the 6KG6 / EL509 / EL519 tube type. This is a beam power tetrode intended for use in class A, AB, or B audio amplifiers and for class B or C RF amplification.
