So, i got a deal on a Antenex TRAT1420 Phantom NMO antenna.

It is only banded by 1MHz so if your expecting to have wide TX coverage stick with a 1/4 and up.

Since i only use 1.5MHz of the 2m spectrum i am very happy with my purchase.

Here is some photos of the antenna.

the black 70cm phantom is for 450mhz ( ordering a 430mhz one soon ).

a pack of Marlboro cigarettes next to the antenna to show its diameter.

A close up of the antenna and the small port hole that takes a special key to tune this antenna.

Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
