Reccomended Tube Types for KRIS amps.

Hello all-

I have two Kris amps that both utilize 6LQ6 tubes, all of which register as bad and shorted on my tube tester.

I recall a member of another forum mentioning once that certain makes of tubes do not work well with this brand of amplifier.

Are there any thoughts regarding what makes do or do not work well with these old amps?

Thanks.

I havent heard that the the brand of tubes make a difference but there could be something to that I dont know.

I do know that these tubes are becoming rarer and more expensive each year that passes. So one will have to run whatever they find available.

Some of these amps can be converted to EL519 tubes if the case is the right size to accomodate the larger tubes. But is it worth it? That is up to the user to decide.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
