You must provide a valid ham radio call sign to bid on this amp

What A hoot, if this is who I think it is, he was a member here a long time ago.
Anyway, go look at his past sells under his feedback and note the Items sold and the buyers.
I do not think he is REAL concerned about were the equipment ends up at.

Apparently Davemade M400 5 pill amps must be hard to find. Strange because all I would have to do is call Joe.

Don't forget to mention the tight assed bastards that swarm your table trying to talk you into basically giving your stuff away.

I came close to putting my foot up some old fools ass at the last hamfest I was at.

Hams are notoriously cheap bastards. I went to a SK funeral viewing for a close friend of mine a few yeas ago and some retard was asking his XYL about his radio gear if any of it was going to be for sale!!! <can not stand it>

Not all hams are like that ! That guy musta been a atiast. Or just a self centered asshole. I hope the wife of the sk slapped him in the face for asking

While working as a paramedic, I was required to remain on scene with the deceased until the Coroner or a cop showed up. Since I worked in a rural area it could be upwards to an hour or more for someone to show up. This usually allowed several family members to show up. Most would start pilfering for pills, money, food stamps and other valuables. Sometimes a good old fashioned fight would break out.

I never got used to that disrespect. When my grandma died in the early 90's I went a little berzerk with some cousins that started to rummage thru her house. The last several family funerals have had some class, thankfully.

I also remember when an old CB'er died that lived a block away from me. The wife was in bad health and was a frequent caller. She mentioned that some locals had stopped by wanting to buy his stuff. I told her I would stop by the next morning and help her price the stuff. She eventually sold it all, but not for pennies as the local assholes had offered.

I was going yo ask you about that since you were a paramedic. But you made a post. Isn't it just down right sad how folks swarm on the dead like flys on shut over possessions? Iv noticed it to in my family it's really disrespectful, rude and plain sickening.

His son in law interveined and escorted the guy out the door.... (y)

I know the son of a long passed ham that didnt sell his dads radio gear until 15 years after his dad passed!!! By then most of the stuff needed some updates. One of the items i got was a Drake TR4CW with power supply and matching speaker.. I sent it away to be restored and sold everything for $800.00.

I know battle ax did have a base killer burb running a 32 pill for his main box. Pretty sure he is not worried about someone having a valid call. He most likely still has it but I havent heard from him in a long time.

It is. When my grandpa died in 1986, his two daughters wasted no time getting to his house and taking anything they wanted, regardless of what the will entitled them. In a bit of irony, my grandpa married his 3rd wife 11 months before he died....she worked as a waitress and lived in a run down old house and her kids were drug addicts...she only married him for his home and he didn't see it...in the will it stated the house was to be sold and the money divided amongst my two aunts, my dad and his brother....however right after his death, my grandpa's widow's kids decided to try and move into my grandpas now vacant home, only to find my aunts already there going thru his stuff....long story short, that turned into a legal battle which my aunts won, but the money my grandpa had set aside for his kids sits in a trust fund until the window dies and then it gets released to my dad, his brother, and both of my dad's sisters...on the good side the money has accumulated interest over the years so everyone will probably get 5 times more than they would have gotten all those years ago.

Damn humans, were barbarians I tell you!!

Both of my folks are still alive, both have some health issues (old age) I'm an only child. Don't have to worry about leechers, tho I could careless about physical items. no ones immortal.

I've notice in the ham and cb community some people are all about finding sk and selling stuff, when I go to an estate sale (rarely), or swap meet I'm there to find stuff I'll use for sometime than sell it for 3/4 less than what I payed unless i have extra items to include for a larger sale.

Now that I've read through this thread I think I would ask for an amateur license prior to selling a linear amplifier but, as for radios, mic's , meters no problem w/o call.(y)

Hey im an only child as well and both my folks are alive and doing well..
Ive only gone to a few SK sales but most of the time i just go to look. Some of the stuff ive seen was too old and obsolete (phone patches and such) to be of any value to me or most of the good stuff was pretty well picked over....

Lol, Yeah...
Make up any call you like I am sure he will sell it to you, he is attempting to get past the e-bay police.
Battle Axe if I remember the "handle"

most likely case,
as i doubt there's many hams dumb enough to believe if a cb'er wanted an amp bad enough he wouldn't get one of his ham mates to buy it for him. cb'ers have been getting round laws and grey areas for decades, that will never change,

where there's a will, there's a lawyer (cue Shioda ;))

here in the UK when 10 metre (proper English spelling guys ;)) monoband radios were illegal to sell, we got round the law by importing them from other EU countries with laxer laws, knowing full well when they arrived in the UK from within the EU due to the new EU freetrade laws at the time customs were f@cked from opening it, whereas buying from non EU countries was and still is risky, especially for getting hammered with import duty/ vat and possible seizure. The Republic of Ireland was a very easy option, with good exchange rates for us, reliable quick postage, and dealers who were good to deal with, they also speak fluent English, makes life a lot easier when problems arise, they could also advertise in UK radio mags making sourcing suppliers over there a dawdle.

the UK was basically forced into allowing single band ten metre radios (not many still operate on 10m mind) to be sold to stem the flow of sets that were coming in anyway, not to mention lost duty. Anyway the crime here has never been possession or modifying/ making unstandard, the crime was transmitting out of band, be it deliberately or through a faulty legal radio and possibly tax/duty evasion depending on where the radio was sourced.

Linears for 27 mhz have never been illegal to buy or build here, only using them is illegal.
