As vegetation begins to green and E-skip begins to grace VHF, storm season begins to threaten the Midwest. Spring in the heartland is a very exciting -- and dangerous -- time of the year. The weather changes every five minutes and you can almost count on one big storm a week. Tornado season is just a part of our lifestyle here in the Midwest. The glamour of a tornado is short-lived, devastating homes and lives -- tornadoes are one of nature’s deadliest forces. As ham radio operators, we can help report tornados and warn the public, hopefully giving them enough time to take shelter; however, our work doesn’t begin until after the storm.
