You might check with TheRealPorkchop, he is a member here and bought 100 of them years ago. Might still have some. You can read here and just PM him.

Yea Greg I refuse to really buy anything on E-Bay these days, prices are crazy. I can’t see wanting the same from forum members here either. Just bought an FT-991a so I’m going to part with some extra items I have.
Up for sale are two Texas Star 250 Amplifiers.
1) Texas Star 250 staged power. Works as it should, all lights work including the meter. The cover shows some signs of wear but the amp is very clean. Has the original Toshiba 2290 finals. $180 shipped, Paypal is fine.
2) Texas Star 250 HDV...
Maybe someone did their "super good" receive mod on it. AKA cranked shit up and now the white noise is even louder. The alignment procedures should be here in the service manual section. Tough to find someone that can do this these days.

Unfortunately on SSB Galaxy radio's are known for drifting like a sailboat. On a base or in a warm climate they do settle down the longer the radio is on. In winter weather areas you will chase your clarifier like a dog chasing his tail.
That said I think you just need to get the hang of a dual...
I would contact Carl at Carl Built Amps. Since he built it new just have him fix it. The older amplifiers are so much better. Not a big fan of 1x4 or 2x4 amplifiers. You probably don’t even need the 100 as a driver to be honest.
A local guy runs this mic with his Lincoln II and it sounds great. I have one on an Icom 718 and really like it as well. They come in gold, black, and chrome.
(lol just saw the post above as well)...
Lol wow I don't remember posting in this thread ten years ago. Must have gotten a little wound up about it. That said I do like Nomadradio's theory on this kind of a mod. He does it but calls it the suicide switch.
The 300p should have three switches. From left to right the first is power on/off and pre amp. The middle switch is SSB/AM. The last switch is Hi / Lo power. The older one’s were red, the newer versions are blue or black.
