I'm downloading the Beta version of "Windows 7" thru Bit Torrent. It will take several hours to get it - as the download is well over 2 Gb's. It is setup to be a ISO file; so I can burn it to a disc and use like one would if they had just bought a copy and installing. It is only good for 30 days believe; but I'll find out more after I set up the spare hard drive to run it.
As a guess, it appears to be Windows Server 2003 (x64) with graphic User Interface that looks like Vista - but runs like Server 2003. I can tell you that Windows 2003 Server is fast, efficient, and near bulletproof. If it can be all of that and look like Vista; then MicroSoft may have finally gotten off of the pot.
What ever O/S you may be using to run you HF rig; this could make it run faster; as Windows 2003 Server can run lots of RAM - unlike XP that can only use up to 2 Gb's!. I'll use it for a couple of days and give a quick 'n dirty review of it - so keep checking back and ask questions or help out the discussion if you - too - are using the trial version.
