Here's a little something for all the guys that think simply having a ham license means they are better than someone without one. Now you can have your very own diploma to hang on the wall and boast about how much it means. Just print it out and fill in your name and hang it on the wall. :D

WOW...a little bitter about something? I'd like to hear your motivation for posting this. I mean, we all have our bad days and post or reply in frustration, but really?

I passed all my licenses by 1989 and I was proud of my accomplishments. Didn't feel like I was better than everyone else though and still don't...except for the self proclaimed "freebanders". They're like the people who steal from the back door of the thrift store and think it's ok

It's fairly clear these days that it's what someone does after the license is issued that counts.

That's just the way it is. Otherwise there wouldn't be enough people on the ham bands to keep them alive.

I took it as self deprecating humor, that's certainly the vein that I posted my reply in.
I'm not a licensed ham, but I think that it is an admirable achievement..regardless, the vast majority of hams don't get one thinking they are better than others, so even if the post was serious, one shouldn't be offended unless they had the wrong motive for getting licensed?

Hey, we all share the same hobby of radio regardless. And I respect anyone who enjoys their hobby and does legally, with respect for others and with integrity. PERIOD!

To heck with the tight butt hams and CB'er a like. Where's the CB'er version of the diploma? (y)

I got mine at Bubba Duke University, Chicken Holler Kentucky, state route 40, mile marker 196.
If you buy a bowl of biscuits and gravy, be careful not spill on the paper placemat/diploma before the Chancellor/ "Colonel" Duke signs it.
He get's pretty pissed..charges extra for a replacement.

OUCH!!! I just thought it was funny!!! I for one am a licensed operator but am totally against the CB / Amateur fights but both sides have their heros.

I'm not bitter in the slightest. Why would I be? I have been a ham for going on 25 years and I got my ticket the hard way, by actually writing the exam in a Dept. of Communications office in Halifax. We had 100 multiple choice questions back then as well as block diagrams to draw and a few paragraphs to write. I also spent 22 years as an AM/FM broadcast engineer and actually do know my stuff so if anyone was to have a "holier than thou" attitude it would be me right? I happened to find that on the 'net somewhere and immediately thought of all the comments made about hams thinking they are better than CB'ers etc. I don't subscribe to that kind of bullshit and judge each by his actions and not as a whole group. Tony and Trailboss saw the intended humour in it and they were correct in assuming the intent. It was HUMOUROUS.
