I mentioned this contraption so many times I thought I'd share exactly what it looks like.
I'm going to remove the mast that came with the product, and the second (5') I added on top of that.
I will need to drill a few holes in telescopic mast in order to mount it to the N.P.R.M.
The frame is one piece square but separated by 2 one and three quarter inch high steel rails. The mast is fastened right in the center of those two rails via a large bolt.
And the rest where quad pod supports the supplied 5' mast.
I will be using brackets or large clamps to fasten the telescopic to the trees trunk. Maybe some industrial bungees 4 added peace of mind. My yard is just too small for guy wires.
I'm hoping for an s-unit both in and out. I'm also hoping it will withstand the rare high wind storm that will inevitably pass through.
I won't know about any gain until I get the project done. 24' is almost 3 x the 2000's current height.
I purchased a 24' Rohn as the NPRM is also produced by Rohn.
It's worked out great for what it is and it was the members of this site that convinced me to go for it. Especially since it was my only option. 73
