Base Long wire antenna for cb?

It will go up 10' next week need longer coax. Stuff I bought put 150w in swr goes up mini 8 ha.seems to have improved the shortwave reception

Someone may have said it already but be careful with antennas that close. Transmitting on one could damage the receiver of the rig connected to the other. A safe bet is to disconnect the coax to your receiver when transmitting on the other antenna.

I am going up 11 feet more on the starduster that should help but I can unplug it easy its half a whole ham setup it has a switch for transmit recieve

I will do that not sure the other one is staying up if it dont work it was fun making it spent five dollars rest is labor

I think I will put a pirate flag up there and start over my starduster works on the shortwave better than the wire one. It was fun cost five bucks and kept me from fixing my amp

That depends on how you connected the ladder line to your receiver. How did you do that?

If that is true, then something is wrong with the way you did your Doublet. The Doublet if correctly done should have much greater "capture area" than the CB antenna on most shortwave bands.

NO!
Receiver CHASSIS should be grounded...not ladder line or twin lead.

Oh I switched to pl259 /r59 where it went through the wall. I thought those two screws might be for the wire antenna hookup. I looked for a manual. Could not find link.

That depends on how you connected the ladder line to your receiver. How did you do that?
