Ferrite is not needed. No worries about core saturation.

Thank you sir for the info. I have several toroids, including a 31 on order from Mouser.If you want to use ferrite, mix 31 is a good choice. I have used that on most of my station power leads due to low 6M Yagi right on my roof capable of legal limit. I got my ferrite at Palomar Engineers. Get a big enough core or snap on that will let you run at least two turns through it.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
