    coax

That Rg-213 will work just fine and is in fact what JoGunn recommends. I am currently using JEFA Tech low loss 400 flex coax that is also very similar to LMR400 UF. You can check it out here --> JEFA Tech: Low Loss 400 Flex Coax - By The Foot . Good luck with your little project...

Looking for a good external speaker

Another thing I did before I started using the aux on the stereo was to use one of a pair of Bose Environmental 151 speakers. It worked very well. I now have the pair of 151's on my base station :)

Looking for a good external speaker

It is a simple setup for me. Since the aux input is not on the stereo itself, but in the lower center panel where the power port is. Requires just on cable from that point to the cb radio external speaker jack. The adapter simply matches a mono external speaker output from the radio to a stereo...

Looking for a good external speaker

I have the output from my external speaker jack go through a mono-stereo adapter then a stereo 3.5mm cable into the stereo aux input on my factory stereo in my 2011 Tacoma. Serve it's purpose very well.

Where to purchase braided ground strap?

Yup. One option entails going to the local hardware store for a length of copper flashing from the roofing department. One ten foot length cut into 1 inch strips will provide ALOT of ground strap.

    XForce 400HD

Just call Xforce and ask them. 847-561-4971 I'm certain they have the answer to your question. You'll get a lot of good advice here but if you want to know what the builder means by the specs provided you should ask him. If you tell him what your set-up is he'll tell you exactly how to run this...

    CB mic question

According to my Astatic manual the mic pin assignment for that radio should be: 1 - White 2 - Shield and Blue 3 - Black 4 - Red

    galaxy 979 intermittent receive issue

I had a similar problem with a SuperStar SS-158EDX. What I found was that the wire going from the circuit board to the SO-239 center was not soldered good and would make intermittent contact. Easy fix with a hot soldering pencil. Not the only issue I had with this radio and not the last. Just...

    Dead Galaxy DX2517

Both my 2517 and my uniden madison have a PA function. I've never used either. Now that you mention it, it is a little strange...

what antenna would you use for CB on this car and why?

102 SS whip I would put the 102 + 4" SS extension + 3" quick release midway between the front and rear bumpers and in the center line of the roof with a puck mount. That should improve the looks of that or any vehicle! All kidding aside that worked just fine for my ford ranger...

    Base station external speakers

I had an old pair of Bose environmental 151's laying around so I plugged them both into my Uniden Madison and mounted them just above head level about 4 feet apart facing the "radio operator position". It was like wearing headphones. When I switched to the Galaxy DX2517 on the base, it only had...
