    Good post:thumbup1: Many switching type power supplies cause receive birdies. Alinco has a P/S with a "notch" adjustment just for that reason.

    Texas Ranger TR696FD1 and a TNT350. Make sure to use a good antenna (ex: SkipShooter, Wilson 1000, etc.) and grounding. Simple, very effective setup that won't break your bank account. You will have a blast.
