I use a stock CB radio from Wally World never been opened, Solarcon A-99, 20' on a hill that is 30' above the people I am talking too, they say my stock radio is walking on people with mobile 2 pills, its true your antenna is 90% of your station.

One more thing I learned is that the channel number displayed on the screen is not the same exact frequency the converter displays for example CH. 49 hear is actually on ch 5 DTV VHF but the converter displays the original ch number 49 analog = 49.1, 49.2, 49.3 / 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 DTV.
Stations chose a channel for post-transition operation within the new core spectrum for TV broadcast channels (channels 2 through 51). The remaining channels (52-69) will be reclaimed for public safety and advanced wireless services.

If you are going to spout all this "CW" at least get the watts right, 4 watt carrier at 100% modulation is legal! I still see HAMs using the 5 watt input = 3.2 watts RF out. Its 7 watts input and 4 watts out now, O.F. ;0 :)

I bought one of them 40$ converters from HEB Grocery store and I did a test to see if my legal CB radio base interfered with channel 2 same frequency but digital. I did not see any freeze frames or break up. I did not have any problems with interference with analog CH 2 just wanted to let you...

I remember FRS when it came out in the 90's, Once I talk to a lady dispatcher from the local emergency department by accident. I used it as a scanner from then on. :D
