My 142 has weak receive and transmit-I replaced IC5 which I was told was a common problem with these radios.Replacing IC5 has made no difference-still weak rx and transmit only about 1.5 watts according to my cheap watt meter.My question is would a bad final or driver also affect receive?The coils are still sealed with wax and don't appear to have been played with and the radio is unmodified as far as I can tell.I don't see any fried components or obvious damage.The radio does the same thing on both AC or DC power so it's not the converter section.I would appreciate any help from one of the pros out there! :roll:
