Never mounted permanent on my truck !!
Ordered new in Dec. and Wes couldnt get to me until after the first of the year.
A ham friend on the 3.897 group, Jerry k5sop heard me talking about getting one
and he shows up a few days later with a High Sierra 1500 Mk 11 G and he gave it
to me
Told me it needed some TLC and it sure did, anyway I went ahead and got
it going and bought a couple new parts as it was made in 2000.
Couple weeks later the Alpine shows up and here I am with two Antennas so A-B
test become the order of the day.
Truthfully, I cant tell any difference except on 75 meters parked. I give a plus to
the Alpine. That said I dont drive around talking on 75 meters and these days I dont
drive much at all, except to therapy and back
For the money you cant do better and No One offers a better plexiglass cover at any price.

I cant sell the High Sierra !! as it was a gift and that wouldnt be right..
Yes i could pass it along to another ham and that would be Ok but i need the money.
I will include a coax cable and the power cable, with control box i built and power pole
connectors. Directions which are too simple. All you will need is a mount with a 3/8 hole
and a 72" whip. You can buy from MFJ or others.
