Pin 6 is dc voltage but unused. No capacitor in mic. How does this thing work? Excuse my ignorance, but dynamic mics have always been my thing. Electrets are new to me.
Wouldn't it need a capacitor to keep dc voltage out of the radio?
It seems as if a circuit like this would be necessary, but it doesn't exist.
Any idea how to wire this thing? I wanted to temporarily put the electret inside this case until I got a noise cancelling one. Plug is wired exactly the same as the stock AT-6666 mic.The radio should power the mic element via the audio pin. If you were to install a dynamic mic on such a radio you should use a blocking cap if the mic doesn't have one.

Now I got 4 wires and am not sure what to do with them. Dynamic mics are a breeze, but I'm new to electrets and I would hate to mess something up.
A stock CRE microphone sounds better and a stock President mic sounds even better than that, so I had no intention of using the Stockstick with the mic the radio came with. Its about as good as it gets for that radio.
You were right. 5 volts on audio wire. The radio should power the mic element via the audio pin. If you were to install a dynamic mic on such a radio you should use a blocking cap if the mic doesn't have one.
You were right. Thanks for the info.It is in the radin main PCB.
Just take DMM and measure.

That was the point of putting that element in that case. Now that I know how to wire it, I can experiment with other elements. Looks cool. Has a leaf switch and solid case and cord. Sounds great and cost $3 to make.I haven't tried this but it might be of interest to you if you're experimenting with different elements.

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare |
May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC |
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
