Afternoon folks. I'm looking for the thread size and pitch for the nylon audio IC screws and TO-220 transistor screws. I need to get some in bulk. I think they are metric..? Any feedback welcome. Thank you.
A lot of Cobra 29 radios have a 3mm thread tapped into the mount hole on the heat sink. Pretty sure the pitch is 0.1mm. Standard name for this screw is "M3".
Found the plastic screw that fits these on Ebay.
Ranger and Uniden have used 2mm screws, with a ceramic shoulder washer to mount finals and modulator transistors. Also found the 2mm nuts to fit these, when the thread tapped into an aluminum heat sink strips out. It can be awkward to get the nut started in some base stations, but this fixes the stripped-thread dilemma.
Don't remember where we found those. Probably from the stock of a closed-up shop we bought.
