Well , a lot of unanswered questions here ? although he is in the CB radio section , I would surely go with what Fred said , but over the years and not being concidered a CB radio , Those freak'in Connex radios are born loud with there echo counter parts.
A cobra 29 or 25 or uniden counterpart that is well built with all the right mods will smoke any export radio when it comes to blaring loud audio, heard it done many times. Of course they will not do 40 to 50 watts ( more like 20 to 30 ) like just about any duel final export will but then again big power is really not everything like a lot of people think.
Tell you something else. If you get a really good antenna like a predator 10K and some low loss coax you would be shocked at the difference you would hear over say a Wilson 5000 and cheap cb shop coax.
There is lot more to having a big loud radio then just a few mods and more power.

Or...you could buy my S6 nitro, save about $100 and have a big audio radio that does 60 watts at 14v in one fell swoop.

My friend ganja man ran a beefed up 25, and a rat shack ant, than bugger smoke all over Kauai, HI. Even made contacts to stateside during skips.
