I got a used Cherokee yesterday and so far it seems to work great-was able to DX on sideband to several states. The circuitry is different than any radio I've had before-some variable resistors I can play with but nothing to really make it swing or get more than 4 watts on AM.I have a small kicker so power is not a concern but it doesn't seem to have any swing although modulation is 100%.I'm getting good reports on the sound but is there any way to tweak it or should I be satisfied the way it is?

I had a cherokee 1000 back in the spring and took it to a shop and he told me there is not much you can do to those radios. He said the max you can get is about 10 to 15 watts out of it, as far as receive now you can open that all the way up.
