I worked PJ2/K9SG Gary from Curacao Island today. I also talked with him earlier this week on 15m......todays contact was on 18.155MHz. Curacao Island is near Aruba. Gary will be on 15,17 and 20 meters through Monday.
Hl_821 are you ready for this.................i use an antron99 up @ 25ft. I use A99 10 thru 17 meters only (with tuner)..... beyond that i use my G5RV shorty. To be honest with you in most cases my antron99 out performs my G5RV on 10,12,15 & 17
My rig is an icom ic-761 and my G5RV is set as a flat top broadside north/south @ 25 ft so that may play a role in my a99 doing so well.
Anyhow it seems like 15 & 17 meters has lots of DX so listen up
Nice contact Novakor. I also made contacts with Curacao island.
PJ2/K9XV Tom 4-11 on 20 meters
PJ2/K9LZJ Lyman 4-13 on 20 meters
KH6LJ Ben Hawaii 4-13
Full size G5RV 60 FT. high
Interceptor 10K 75 feet to the top
Bobcat115
I also talked to PJ2/K9LZJ on 20m. Did it on a homebrew fan dipole with the feedpoint 20ft off the ground. I now have a balanced line up with the feed point right at 50ft, same hight as my a99. i use the a99 for 10-17 with a tuner.
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
