Ok guys, please don't laugh at me crying....:headbang I apologize for the funky shapes that I drew, but I am using a laptop with just the touchpad....
OK, Here we go.
First picture;
In teal, is a vaiable switch that you will get a better look at in the 5th and 6th pic. Not sure what it is, or does.
In green, It is still attached by two leads that appear to be soldered thru to the other side of the board. Is this a mod, or a screw up?
Second picture;
In yellow, the little black plastic box appears to be an aftermarket mod, but I am not sure.
Third picture;
In blue, the shielding on the coax is not soldered together! Is it supposed to be, or is there supposed to be a cap, or resistor there?
Fourth picture;
In yellow, exact location of mystery plastic box from picture two.
Fifth picture; (Here is where is gets interesting)
In red, the power supply looks to have been replaced by this. Not sure if it is original or not.
In white, the variable switch this sticks out of the side of the case, and is not marked.
In purple, from pic one, the clear plastic box that is just hanging there by the two leads.
OK, the story behind this radio. I bought this on eBay as a "For parts not working" due to the seller plugged it in, and it lit up, but was unable to test it further. When I received it, the tubes were installed, but not in the sockets. They were hanging by the top electrode. Most of the pins were bent, and both sides of the tubes are black. I am afraid to plug this thing into an outlet. Can someone help me figure out what I should do? Does someone have one that is complete so I can see what I am missing, and how it should look? Can someone tell me what the variable switch it, and if that clear plastic box is suppose to be hanging?:bdh:
DID I BUY A RAPED RADIO ????? op:op:op:
Please tell me that this is all repairable, and I don't have to take out a second mortgage on a house that I don't own.
