external freq counter needed

Waste of time. It will ONLY read a dead AM carrier, with the mike gain turned down, plugged into that jack.

Try it on SSB, or while modulating your AM transmit, and the digits will dance randomly.

It's the same hookup as an inline counter that gets patched into the antenna coax, but built into the radio.

Copper used to sell a "FC-250" model that had a single RCA input jack as well as the two antenna-coax sockets. Only had five digits, though.

Oh, and a counter plugged into that jack will NOT show anything while receiving.

Um, like, so it would read the same as the one built into the front panel?

I'm sure you could, but why would you need two counters on one radio? Gotta figure this is why Galaxy only puts that six-pin socket onto the radio models that don't come with it built in.

You'd need to figure out the hookup. Haven't seen any pictures showing where to put the wires for that circuit board, only for the older-type models.

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
