hello, I am a new ham of a few months, and my only radio, a galaxy dx 2527 10 meter base has started "messing up" on me. It acts like it's overheating, causing me to lose all recieve and get an annoying "hum" in the radio. I have a four way dimmer for the lights, and when I change the dimmer, it changes the pitch of the noise. I was told it could be the voltage regulator, number 2N5301. I could easily send it in to get fixed, but I would rather learn to do it myself. I have a few spare parts here, and more available. Does anyone know if there's another part that would work equally well, if this is indeed the problem? What all will I need to replace it? Thanks for your help!
