Galaxy 959 removing talkback

I purchased a Galaxy 959, that had the talkback removed and a echo switch installed installed in place of the talkback switch. I looked inside the radio for the switch and apparently talk back has been wired to stay on. I would like to remove talkback completely.. Any help on this is greatly appreciated!!

Check for a jumper or resistor in place of R223 which will be one of the resistors in front of Q42 which is in front of T1, the transformer in the back left corner of the radio with the knobs toward you. Remove whatever is in place of R223 and you should remove the talkback.
