HELLO GUYS,,I have a galaxy melaka EPT-360014B-- P.C.B
This radio has NO RX On AM, No Rx period No RX signal, No RX Audio
SSB RX seems O.K., Although i have not heard any tuned signals.
No one talks SSB in our area, So we have to wait for DX To talk SSB.
But i am picking up AM Override in SSB Mode O.K.
Next on AM TX the radio dead keys wide open 10+ watts with no
forward swing, and no modulation. In SSB Mode the TX seems alittle
low, but i do have TX Audio on SSB, but it only swings about 5 or 6
watts peak output on SSB. So far i did P.A. test and i have good
loud audio here..Also with the roger-beep and talkback on i can
hear the beep tone o.k. Although it does not show modulation/swing
on wattmeter, and you cant here it on the monitor radio.
So far i have changed TR-51,TR-50,TR-49,TR-52,,C-190,C-193
Out with new parts. Also i have checked all the diodes around the
Mod Amp Transistor, they check good..Also R-243 the big resistor
close to the Mod Amp Transistor gets extremely hot seconds after
you power up the unit. This radio had the N.P.C/ VOLTED FINAL MOD
Installed. But i removed this and put it back stock..Also i removed the
mirror board, but still same thing.R-243 still gets extremely hot, and
radio has NO RX on AM. What else could be shorted here that i am
missing..Thanks for any help given. B.T.W. I havent changed out
R-243 Yet,, but i checked it in circuit, and it seems to be O.K.

Just wanted to let you guys know,I got this radio back going.
Turns out i got a bad batch of new parts from h and y.
I just bought 200.00 dollars worth of parts from these people,
and it turns out probably half of it is duds.I changed TR-50,TR-51
TR-49,TR-52 Back out again with some old stock i had,and that did
the trick..The radio is working great again..Just goes to show just
because you have new parts, dont assume they are always good.
The reason R-243 Was over-heating was because TR-52 the
SSB Shunt Switch was shorted..I removed TR-52 And that restored
my AM RX..But AM TX was still off..AM TX Dead key was still wide open,
and still no AM TX Audio..So after alot of circuit tracing and loss hair,I
Decided to change out the NEW PARTS Again with some old stock i had.
That did the trick..Radio is working great again. THANKS guys for all your
help..
