just had a local ham /cber pick this up at an estate. does n ot have mars mod [ 11 meters] can this radio be converted to do this

If I remember this mod correctly...the display will never be correct...it will still read 28.xxx...and it is not accurate on the last couple digits...when used on 11m...
That radio is a poor choice to mod for 11m...
Also when retuning the final section for 10/11m do not expect to get a 100 watts of output...more like 70 watts keydown with normal voice peaks on SSB around 30-40 watts...set it any higher and you be looking for new finals and drivers...real soon.
Also they have a very sensitive SWR protection circuit...operation above 1.5:1 (unless it has been changed) the transmitter will shut off, then the radio must be turned off and back on to restore operation...
