If the CW defect is still present, then this radio is a TURD.
Maybe this will help.
If the CW defect is still present, then this radio is a TURD.
I can only deduce, that the reviewer of this radio, refuse to demonstrate the CW capability so as not to anger their benefactors.
Is why I feel it's just a CRE 8900 and the like, in disguise. Just a waste of money until proven otherwise.
After watching CBRadioMagazine's video on the Lincoln 2,the Lincoln 2 would fit in a Din sized hole better than the Grant 2,has dual finals, and additional display color,LCD display is cold natured but works fine after a 15 minute warmup. Has a PA jack in addition the the external speaker jack. Has a noisier receive like the CRE-8900,has better audio clarity on SSB than the 8900,got a fresher looking case whereas the Grant 2's 980'ish case is now looking dated like something out of the eighties car stereo wise.
I'd pick the Grant 2 only for it's better quieter receive but tge Lincoln 2 looks like a better all around deal with the exception of it's noisier receive.

I know Drew doesn't operate CW, so I wouldn't expect him to review that feature.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
