President Grant Export

Hello.
Does anybody know why a President Grant Export would blow a fuse when switched to sideband?
Works great on AM.

Does it blow the fuse when you switch to the SSB mode or do you have to transmit on SSB for it to fail? What size fuse are you using?
I have several DX Grants and if I talk SSB for any period of time the stock 5 amp fuse will blow. I normally use a 7 1/2 amp which will only blow if I am extemely long winded on SSB.

I recently bought a president grant. The guy I bought it from got it from a yard sale. He never messed with it and sold it. Well it all works but it wont transmit and I dont know what size fuse to use. i put a 2A in it and it blew two of them. Any idea why it wont transmit? and what size fuse do i need?
