I have in my possession a studio quality broadcast microphone that I would like to use with my HF rig. I have looked at the Heil sound site and found a adaptor connector and PTT switch that I believe can be used with this mic. Will this mike be compatable with my Kenwood TS-430S? And if so, what settings would I need to make on this mic to get proper impedance with my rig? Spec.s for the mic can be found here-RCA DX 77

Hey eduk8tr, I have been contemplating getting a Kenwood TS430S what can you tell me about them. Are they a good rig for a new guy? Here is the one I was looking at.

This is the second listing. The first listing only went to $373.00. If it doesn't make the reserve price, I'm going to make him a offer. What do you think is a good offer?

Start at $425.00 and if you have to, go to $475.00. With all the accessories offered that would be a really good buy. I really like mine. It is a very good starter HF rig.

Just and update. I contacted Bob at Heil Sound and found out using this mike will be more trouble than I thought. It was just one of those "Hey, I wonder if I can do this, experiments?" That one contemplates from time to time.
