Does anybody know if a Texas star 350 hdv can run on fm..i can't find anything on the net about it.
This is good advice considering the higher carrier on FM and the fact the amp is still running class AB with bias on FM. Lots more heat will be produced if a full power FM carrier is used. If it were mine, I might consider adding an "FM" switch, that would simply remove bias when activated for FM use.Run it at 1/2 power it will do on SSB, keep it cool.

This is one reason I have been installing a variable bias control on my new designs, so that it can be adjusted from class C for FM, to class AB for SSB. AM runs most efficient someplace in between.maybe thats a good reason to keep my old class c amp then. It was most likely a one time deal, I've never talked fm on the cb before but it sure was a clean strong signal !!! Thanks for the advice.
