Tokyo Hy-Power, a manufacturer of Amateur Radio amplifiers, antenna tuners, and other equipment, is in bankruptcy, and its plant, in Saitama Prefecture near Tokyo, has been shuttered. Telephones at the company no longer are being answered, and its Japanese website has been taken down, although the company’s US website remains working. I thought Alpha was PRETTY expensive. Sucks they went under...made some nice stuff.

Hell, buy a pair and use one for back-up. They are only 30,000 Euros apiece.

THP was pretty high priced but no more so than Alpha or the Distronix Prometheus amplifier.

THP was pretty much top notch as far as reliability and serviceability. A big problem with THP is that they spent far too much money and time protyping and designing amplifiers that they never brought to market. If they had concentrated on three or four amps with at least one of them for 6 or 2m they may have been still in business. You cannot spend time and money designing stuff that is never brought to market.

I just found out yesterday evening. It's really too bad, they seemed to have a very high quality line of products. High priced or not!
