Transistors ? 2SC1969 Verses NTE 236

i do have to add my input on this
the 1969 is 12volts and the NTE236 is 16volts
maybe there is a reason for this
anyone want to see data on this just ask...
and back in the days the direct replacement was ECG236!!

and now were are into CB20W's ...half breads

This is wild and very informative. I know those little KLV Amps hold out pretty good I am going try one of those b203 boards for in place of the internal speaker

Yes they are ebay has them or C????? elec...
I installed 15 without a problem!
running 1 and have 2 sitting here, going to try them in a old washington base! just for kicks...

To reply to the original topic @ hand, I tried this as a replacement on a galaxy 66 and was very disappointed with the results. Radio would not do more than 16 watts peak.

did you just add them thereself?
or did you do a cap and resistor update too?

The Galaxy was already done up (typical NPC Mod) and was doing 32 watts peak 8 or 9 watts Bird rms (I forget exactly how much). Final went due to bad antenna connection and all I had was the NTE untill the 1969 came in I ordered. 3-4 watts Bird was all I could get with the NTE. Even though I completely realigned the whole rig. Popped the 1969 back in when it arrived and was doing exactly the same numbers as it did before it blew! Didn't even have to retune

not a problem..I still say because of this
the 1969 is 12volts and the NTE236 is 16volts
most cars only put out 14 tops...all i did is change a resistor
to send more voltage..

but not all can be the same!!!

Yep, That is the important part ,Now you know..
Its a shame you couldn't just swap the parts,and
have what you had in wattage..weird part of life in CB land
no unit is ever the same Even if it has the same name

Yep this is ESPECIALLY true with the Cobra 29's
