My triple stage phantom is showing 90 watts dk and 450 pep on medium with 11/2 dk and 20 watts pep from a sonar fs 2340.
On high it show's 110 dk and 550 pep.
I acquired enough 6lq6's (tested excellent) to replace all the original tubes but is that necessary? Is there a specific tube placement in the amp that is dedicated to the high side?
I unfortunately don't have a tester and can't check the original d&a stamped Sylvania's. That would certainly make replacing the bad tubes very easy.
I could just replace all the tubes but if there's a particular set that runs the high side I'd rather replace just them.
I used to see 1000+ with the same fs 2340 producing the above mentioned output.
The amp was totally recapped and all controls cleaned about 7 months ago.
I know that there will be no difference on the other end between 450 and 1000 but fear running it with weak Tube's might adversely affect the amp. I've been running it in medium but still worry running it at all with bad tubes might eventually cause problems. Thanks. 73.
