Uniden 78 DK for 2x2879

Currently have a Uniden 78 set at 2 watt DK swinging around 18-20. Looking to get a fatboy trucker 2x2879 amp, what kind of DK watts and peak watts should I expect from this set-up.

two things:
spend the extra to get a 2x2879 amp with a fan, it will save the box in the long run.
For that box i would give it 3-4 watts carrier in.
Variable power is better so you can set it up properly, that radio of yours is capable of alot more if certain things are done to it.
I can help you with those things.
There are alot of guys running my radios.
If done right you will get on stock volts about 175-200 rms from that box, and you should set it up so you dead key around 100-140. You should see 350-450 peak on a true peak meter.
This will give you very loud modulation.
Atleast you are on the right track with the radio you are using.

im not gonna get into what you can expect from two 2879's , but you want the amp to deadkey %25 of what it will cleanly swing . use an external power meter .
