To All,
One of my many fleabay scores is sick. It is a TRC-452. Cool little unit with an 858 chip. I think I have $7.00 in it (for my own entertainment and brain exercise) counting the purchase (with free shipping!) and a handful of new electrolytics. It does receive and has transmitted a handful of times (with shockingly very loud audio and swing) but I have tracked it's transmitting issues to a frozen/cracked ferrite insert in the L2 position-triggering the IS (Instant Stop per the manual-what a HOOT!) I can't seem to locate a new LA165 or technical specs on this tuning coil either. It seems Toko is now Murata and their parts search page is not very friendly or forthcoming.
I do have a couple of dead ones that are standing by as organ donors-one of which is an EPT295013Z chassis(with too many lifted traces) that has already given up his DC power socket so that a Kenwood TR7800 may live and a chassis mount S0239 and a couple transistors so that a TRC49 (Pro-Niner) may live.
Strictly looking at color codes of tuning coils, the 2950's L17 is white as is the Trc452's L2. Not sure if this means much? Although the L17 from the 2950 is a smaller package, I am sure size can be overcome. Where there is a will, there is a way!
Any and all help is much appreciated. May be time to troll fleabay for more deals (with Free Shipping!)
