I have a Yaesu FT-1802 that won't shift like my other one. When I go to menu item 4 ARS it says off and I cannot change it (my other one will). It must have been mod'd because it transmits out of band.

it looks like mods.dk has one to extend TX without damaging ARS.

Those mods are different. one says to remove the bridge on pad # 3 and install on on pad #2 while the other just says to remove the bridge at pad #3 and says nothing about installing one at pad #2. Maybe it will work without the pad #2 bridged but I would take a look at your other radio that has not been modded and make the other one the same. That would be the safest way when you have two conflicting pieces of info.
Good idea CK. I looked at the one that was working and it had solder on only pad 3. They had removed pad 3 and added pad 2 like the one mod said but that is what was causing the problem. I removed pad 2 and the ARS started working as well as out of band. It seemed to work ok but I still couldn't clone though. I added pad 3 back to return to band and the clone worked. All is good now! Thanks.
