Hey Guys I got this Yaesu FT-747GX that i have owned for 15 years or so ....Recently i have started to have intermitten problems whenever I go to do a A.M. Transmission set-up as follows:
The Carrier Power is limited to 25 watts or less OR "4" on the P.O. scale This is accomplished by ADVANCEING the DRIVE CONTROL for a meter deflection of "4" on the P.O. Scale .BUT sometimes it will go right to the correct watts or PO meter reading of "4"..........BUT other times ....I can turn the the DRIVE CONTROL full Clockwise and only gets to "3.75" on the PO Scale......If i just wiat or hit the radio THEN it will allow me to advance the Drive Control Someone has mentioned to clean the POT? Do I need to get into the radio and spray this POT with CRC QD contact cleaner ?
Would appreciate any help besides shipping it to Yaesu .....yet[/FONT]
