Yaesu VX-8


I'm seeing $399 at gigaparts and $410 at universal...

Is it really worth that much...time will tell.

I was hoping it would be less, actually. I might as well just get the VX7 or even the VX3
 
Wonder when Yaesu is going to put the VX-8R on their site.

VX-8 looks nice but...

...what's the deal with all these $500+ HTs? Icom has their latest at that price, too.
 
It's the new order of things.

The dollar's value is plumeting. Expect it to get worse.

Anyway, the TH-F6A is usually around $330 and the best price for the VX8 I've seen is $390, only $60 more, and it's probably $60 more radio, if YAESU would ever publish complete specs :(
 
I said I would buy a VX-8 IF the Cubs make it to the World Series THIS year.

I was looking at this specs on this HT again last night and I think I'm going to try and get one. I really like that it has built in TNC for APRS support, GPS, and bluetooth. It really has a lot going on for the price, although I wish the GPS support was a little less. It would be nice if the bluetooth support recogized bluetooth GPS since I already have one of those :)
 
I wish the Bluetooth let you copy over all your channels once programmed, offered radio mods, power tweaking, custom setting adjustments, etc. Ah well.
