Your experience on IRLP

Hi, I'm thinking of buying the $525 Nano Node. ---> http://micro-node.com/
I have no access to any repeaters around here that have IRLP.
But, before I do, I'd like to know if you were to do it again (assuming you have a node), would you spend the money?
If your using your own node or not
are you having fun with IRLP? Are you making a lot of contacts?
Are there a lot of people to talk too?
The unit also supports Echolink, so fill me in on that too, if you would. Thanks!

I don't think I'd spend that much money for an irlp/echolink adapter. I'd probably just go with this echolink adapter for $69 first: http://arsrepeaters.com/USB_EchoLink_Adapter.php

There are a lot of repeaters, systems on IRLP, Echolink, Allstar, and D-Star. If you're just wanting to dabble in it, start with the inexpensive options first to see if it's for you.
