Looks like it takes bird 43 elements. And can do forward and reflected at the same time.
But what type of connectors does it use for the meter movement?
Any one have a good website that explains the different type of aluminum tubing sizes? What fits into what and so on? I made a few beams out of scrap metal and think I have it all worked out. Now I want to buy some aluminum pieces and make it right.
Also what size would be best suited to...
It's been a long time since I messed with CB stuff but I seem to remember those add on freq counters. Can some one give me a quick refresher?
Did it take a sample from the VCO/PLL and though dip switch settings add so much to give you your operating frequency? If so what was the range of...
Any body try this yet? It’s an easy way for a no code to make DX contacts on 6 and 2 meters. With my minimum set up, 10 elements and 100 watts on 2 meters have made contacts around 800~1000 miles. Though the contacts are the minimum required.

Can any one tell me the spacing most of the big guys’ use on the 3-element key down antennas? Is the 1 hot and 2 hot (terminology?) spaced differently?

I’m about ready to go get me another truck. The Dodge I had was a 2000 and didn’t notice a problem with the electronics. Still weighing the pros and cons of a new GM. 16 pill will be the biggest it ever sees. Yes the dedicated alternator will be migrated over.
So any problems with...
I use the Diamond X500 144/440. It was 6 (read six) S units better than the Ringo Ranger.
Try HRO, Universal, which ever one doesn't have a store in your state.

Well it is time for Skip to get a new vehicle. Looking for feedback on any truck that has known excessive noise problems or doesn’t respond well to lots of RF.
Right now I have a 2001 Dodge RAM, but it is a gas hog. I use all bands available and an 8-pill on HF. Plan on transferring my...
I’m looking for a cheap, easy to work on, Export radio with SSB & FM. I’m going to use it as an IF for a transverter so I don’t care about power out. No other bells and whistles; schematics and drawings readily available will be a big plus.

There are plenty of them out there. It seems to be the radio of choice for Free banding and no code techs.
Has the mod been done yet if your so inclined?

It’s a little unfair to compare the 2. I’ve been using a TS50 since they came out. I think the TX audio is better on the Kenwood. And you can program 4 functions to use the 4 buttons on the mike. The only thing I wish my 50 had was a built in speech processor.
The ICOM gives you 6 and 2...
Check out this one on Rfparts website.

It might be the same as the other one listed.
If you’re licensed or know some one who is, try this guy. He is strictly a ham only guy.

And this guy will never finish his...
Re: Re:800 thru 900 scanner mods???
What area do you plan on listening to cell phones? Most of the country went digital and the rest will soon follow. There is no handheld scanner that can decode all of the various modes of digital phones.
In the 800 Mhz region there will be 2 carriers plus...
