    Got the radio cheap, it was working fine then while on am mode rx dropped out. If I switched to ssb I had rx and if back to am rx would work until I key up again for more than two seconds the am rx would fall out. Its not stuck on TX just like between rx and TX. Now the am rx won't work at all...

    Got it cheap and the Rx is working fine but when keyed there is no AM power at all but the radios meter shows modulation. SSB has less than half a watt out and no modulation. the d179 cap was burnt to a crisp and i replaced it with the 2.2uF 24v cap and still same problem. I checked the pre...

    Astron VS-35m amp meter?

    Ive seen it before but cant find it for my life on the web. My amp meter on the PS is maxing at 8 with a 100w/14v load on it. Doing the math, that sounds right, right? 100w/14v=7.1 amps Why is a 20 amp PS recommended for my 100w FT-840?
