Thats exactly what i was wondering...This is my first hardmount, I'm thinking the antenna needs to be isolated, with plastic on either side to keep it from grounding, I was assuming it Should be grounded at least on One side.....hmmmm, I may have to pull down the headliner and reinstall..

hi 357 mag!, When i hardmounted this there's plastic grommets on the topside for the outer roof, Inside on the ceiling it is directly to the sheetmetal...should there also be a plastic grommet inside. No part of the antenna touches te metal mounting surface? Thanks for your help, The General.

No i dont have a meter to check..I slid the boot back and can see where the solder from the center core seems to have bled out onto the side a little..Think maybe it is defective? This was sent directly from Sirio, Brand new outfit...Thanks for the help.
