    Yes, I got mine and used the egg shaped desk mount and used some double sided sticky tape..does not move and works great.. love the radio so much I ordered the 480 hx.. love it also.. thanks for all the help selecting these two radios. Doug:tt2:

    Hi.. Question.. since the faceplate does not attach to the body, like Icom 706 is the faceplate stable on your table or does it rock around? how do you keep from falling over etc.. does it have suction cups or whatever, and how long are the connection cords? Thanks in advance :thumbup:

    Yes, I am just testing, at full pwr, but hardly ever run it there on regular basis. Usually 60 percent or so.

    Update.. been running 2970n2 at full pwr for 3 days now..drawing about 48 amps at 250 w out.. so far so good.. fans come on when getting warm, shut down on time.. works great.. so far so good.. go figure.. just a pwr hog.. :laugh: Doug

    Yea, I hear lot of different opinions and options.. I appreciate all of the feedback very much.. The radio works awesome as it is, but the high power draw is in question.. I think I will just use it as is on a 70 amp Astron and see how long it last before I blow it up.. LOL.. I will keep you...

    on a 70 amp power supply..(Astron) this radio does 315 watts SSB and draws 55 amps..go figure.. it should what draw max of 40 or so amps at the output?
